Sump Pump Installation in Paris, Brantford & SW Ontario
A properly installed sump pump is your basement’s last line of defence. We install, replace and service sump pumps — pit, pump, check valve, discharge and battery backup — so spring melt and summer storms never reach your floor.
Sump Pump Installation, Replacement & Repair
Whether your home has no pump at all, a tired old unit, or a pump that can’t keep up in a big storm, we’ll set you up with a system that actually protects your basement.
New Sump Pump Installation
Full installs in homes that have never had one — we cut and set the pit, install a quality submersible pump, and run the discharge line away from your foundation.
Sump Pump Replacement
Most pumps are done after 7–10 years. We swap aging or failed units for a properly sized new pump before the old one quits in the middle of a storm.
Battery Backup Systems
Storms that flood basements are the same storms that knock out power. A battery backup sump pump keeps pumping when the grid doesn’t, exactly when you need it most.
Sump Pit & Basin Work
A pit that’s too small or silted up makes even a good pump short-cycle. We install proper basins with sealed lids that keep debris out and the pump running clean.
Discharge Lines & Check Valves
We run the discharge well clear of the foundation and fit a quality check valve, so pumped water stays gone instead of draining right back into the pit.
Weeping Tile Tie-Ins
Installing interior weeping tile or waterproofing your basement? We tie the drainage system straight into the sump so collected water has somewhere to go.
Signs You Need a New Sump Pump
A sump pump usually gives you warning before it fails — and the worst time to find out is mid-storm. Noticing any of these? Call us for a free look.
-
Your pump is 7–10+ years oldMost pumps fail around this age — replace on your schedule, not the storm’s.
-
Water sitting in the pitA pit that stays full means the pump or float switch isn’t doing its job.
-
Damp floor after stormsIf the basement gets wet whenever it pours, the pump can’t keep up — or isn’t there at all.
-
Runs constantly or neverShort-cycling, non-stop running or dead silence all point to a pump, switch or pit problem.
-
Grinding, rattling or hummingA struggling motor is a pump on its way out. Strange noises mean it’s time.

Older home, no pumpPlenty of older homes around Paris and Brantford have no sump at all — until the first wet spring.

Sump Pump FAQ
Quick answers about sump pumps in Paris, Brantford and across SW Ontario. For full pricing detail, read our sump pump cost guide.
What is a sump pump and do I actually need one?
A sump pump sits in a pit at the lowest point of your basement and pumps out groundwater before it reaches your floor. If your basement has ever been damp after a storm, sits in a low spot, or has weeping tile draining to a pit, you need one that works. Around here, spring melt is usually what proves it.
How much does sump pump installation cost?
A straight pump replacement costs much less than a brand-new install where we cut a pit and run new discharge. It depends on the pump, the basin and how far the water has to travel, so every quote is free and itemized in writing. Call (519) 802-2138 and we’ll give you a real number.
How often should a sump pump be replaced?
Plan on 7–10 years for a typical submersible pump — sooner if it runs a lot. If yours is near that age or making new noises, replacing it on your schedule beats finding out it’s dead during a storm.
Is a battery backup sump pump worth it?
If your basement is finished, yes. The storms most likely to flood your basement are the same ones that knock the power out, and a primary pump without power is just a bucket. A battery backup keeps pumping for hours through an outage.
Can you just repair my existing pump?
Sometimes — a stuck float switch, a failed check valve or a clogged intake are all fixable. We’ll tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or you’re better off putting that money toward a new pump.
Does a sump pump fix a leaky basement on its own?
It handles the water that reaches the pit, but it doesn’t stop water coming through cracks or walls. If your basement leaks, the full fix is usually a combination — crack repair or waterproofing plus a properly working sump. We do all of it, so you get one honest plan instead of three contractors.

Dave did a great job of waterproofing our basement. Not only did he fix the problem but he also gave valuable advice. For someone like myself who knows nothing about foundation and concrete walls of homes Dave was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem with a reasonable price.
We had Dave and his crew waterproof the one side of our foundation. They were polite, efficient, reliable and very knowledgeable. I recommend On Point for all your masonry repairs.
It was such a game changer when we met Dave and his team to help us out. Thank you Dave and the Team for hard work I would recommend this to whoever would need help. Just a phone call away makes your life easier.
