We carefully dig down the outside of the foundation to expose the full wall, right down to the footing, so the whole below-grade surface can be treated.

The wall is cleaned, cracks are repaired, and a waterproof membrane and sealant are applied so moisture can’t pass through the foundation.
Footing & Weeping Tile
We check, clear or replace the weeping tile system at the footing so groundwater is carried away from the wall instead of pooling against it.

Foundation Sealing and a Weeping Tile System That Works
Exterior waterproofing does two jobs at once. Foundation sealing stops water soaking through the wall, and the weeping tile system at the footing carries groundwater away before it builds up against it. One without the other is half a fix.
With the wall dug out to the footing, it’s the cheapest time to sort the drainage too. If the old tile is crushed, full of silt or the original clay, we replace it with new perforated pipe in clean washed stone, running to your sump or to daylight.

What's the difference between exterior and interior waterproofing?
Exterior waterproofing excavates the outside of the foundation and stops water before it reaches the wall — the most complete, lasting fix. Spring through fall is ideal for excavation and for membranes and mortar to cure, though we assess year-round. Getting it done before the wet season keeps the next big rain out of your basement.
